May · Day 22
We will give account
Reading
Practical meditation
Peter reminds us that all will give account to the One who is ready to judge the living and the dead. This is not a cheap threat; it is spiritual clarity. Life is not a closed room where each person invents his own truth.
The awareness of giving account should not produce paranoia, but sobriety. It cleans the agenda, cuts excuses, and restores weight to small choices. It also frees us from the need to execute justice with our own hands.
The life of Christ in us does not fear the light. What needs to be hidden needs to be dealt with. To live before God is to learn to choose today in a way that tomorrow will not require moral makeup.
Examine
What choice would I make differently today if I fully took seriously that I will give account to God?
Prayer
Lord, place me in your light without fear and without pretense. Purify my hidden choices and make my conscience obedient to your presence. May the life of Christ in me not fear being seen by you. Amen.
Practice
Let us correct one small choice today before it needs to be justified tomorrow.
