May · Day 15
Before the Lord and the brothers
Reading
Practical meditation
Peter gathers simple and demanding words: unity, compassion, brotherly love, mercy, and humility. This is the atmosphere in which the life of Christ can circulate among the brothers and sisters.
Close relationships reveal the truth of our inner condition. It is easy to appear deep before texts; it is harder to be meek when we are contradicted. The tongue can bless God and wound brothers on the same day. This is not a detail; it is the exposure of the soul.
Whoever desires to love life must guard the mouth, turn from evil, do good, and seek peace. Not as performance, but as the fruit of a life touched by the Lord. True spirituality passes through the way we treat real people.
Examine
In which relationships have I protected my pride instead of seeking peace with humility?
Prayer
Lord, deal with my soul in real relationships. Purify my tongue, break the pride that resists peace, and cause your love to flow freely through me to the brothers and sisters. Amen.
Practice
Let us take one simple step today toward reconciliation, service, or wise silence with someone close.
